Weekend at the Goldpanner: Camping in Cherryville

Last weekend we spent a leisurely two days camping at the Goldpanner with our friend J and C, and their daughters Tigger and Chuckles. The girls had a blast with full rein of the campground… They biked all over, jumped on the trampoline, swung n the swings, make castles in the dust, etc.

We’ve known our friends pre-adoption, and really spent a huge portion of that first year home together. But with living in different towns and the girls going to different schools, we don’t get to see as much of each other anymore. So it was great to sit, sip, sit some more, and chat.

We introduced G to the joys of s’mores, and weenies wrapped in bannock. We made the requisite small hike down to the creek and tried our hand at gold panning (found some!) …but mostly we just sat around, ate, and watched the kids be way more active than us.

Our friends have a nice RV, but we camped out in one of the small cabins. It was lovely, actually… It had linens, pots, a fridge, hot plate, etc.: everything except running water and a bathroom. It made packing up for the trip so much easier. (Still, I can’t wait until we have out own RV again.) I highly recommend it, and it was good value at around $70 a night.

Enjoy the pictures.
